Dear Parents,
After much careful consideration and planning, some schedule adjustments are being implemented for the 2019-20 school year. In order for teachers to meet the ever-growing needs of our students, we must provide quality professional development on a regular basis. Until now, teachers have had to miss class time in order to receive training. With an adjusted schedule, LCSC teachers will be able to have regular opportunities before students arrive to grow their skill sets and stay informed of the latest research and best practices in education.
We recognize that the schedule change will be an adjustment for families, so this information is being shared now in order to have the summer months to make any necessary changes. The benefits of well-equipped teachers who have the most tools at their disposal to meet the needs of our students remains our top priority. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation with this change!
The new start and end times are as follows:
Columbia Elementary 8:30-2:45
Fairview Elementary 8:30-2:45
Franklin Elementary 8:45-3:00
Landis Elementary 8:45-3:00
Columbia 6th Grade Academy 8:30-3:15
Logansport Junior High 8:30-3:15
Logansport High School 8:35-3:25
We will continue to provide bus transportation with most times running 30 minutes later. New bus schedules will be released as we begin registration in mid-July. We will continue to provide breakfast for students, and those times will be shared at registration as well.
Each school will provide the information specific to their building concerning drop-off and pick-up times, along with any other necessary details.
Please understand that these changes are being made in order to better meet the needs of our students! Please contact your child’s school with any additional questions.

Después de una cuidadosa consideración y planificación, se estarán implementando algunos ajustes en el horario para el año escolar 2019-20. Para que los maestros puedan cumplir con las crecientes necesidades de nuestros estudiantes, debemos proporcionar tiempo para desarrollo profesional de calidad con frecuencia. Hasta ahora, los maestros han tenido que perder tiempo de clase para recibir capacitación. Con un horario ajustado, los maestros de LCSC podrán tener oportunidades de capacitación antes de que los estudiantes lleguen a clase y así aumentar sus habilidades y mantenerse informados sobre las últimas investigaciones y las mejores prácticas en la educación.
Reconocemos que el cambio de horario será un ajuste para las familias, por lo que esta información se les está compartiendo desde ahora y así tener los meses de verano para hacer los cambios necesarios. Es nuestra prioridad tener maestros bien preparados y equipados con herramientas a su disposición para satisfacer las necesidades de nuestros estudiantes. Continuaremos brindando transporte escolar, estos correrán en su mayoría 30 minutos más tarde. Los nuevos horarios de transporte escolar se publicarán a mediados de julio. Continuaremos brindando desayuno a los alumnos, y esos horarios se les informarán durante las inscripciones.
