Yesterday marked the beginning of #NationalPoliceWeek. Throughout this week we would like to recognize the people and procedures in place that help keep our school buildings and students safe.
Meet our School Resource Officer at Logansport High School, Eric Binney. Officer Binney graduated from LHS in 1987 and shortly after he started a career working in juvenile corrections. This position helped him find his passion for working with youth and eventually he found himself working for Logansport Police Department. Officer Binney has worked for the Logansport Police Department for 21 years, 10 of those years has been related to SRO work.
His favorite part of his job is watching students grow from their freshman year to senior year and building relationships with the students. The students at LHS come to Officer Binney with many different situations, occasionally even asking him for help with school work which keeps him on his toes. He enjoys being an SRO and is thankful that the students get to see police officers in a different light and form a relationship with them.
Thank you, Officer Binney, for everything you do to keep our schools and students safe!
